Whiteford board approves three-year $55,000-a-year athletic trainer contract and several overnight trips

The Whiteford Agricultural School Board approved March 23 a three-year athletic training services contract with Nationwide Children’s Hospital beginning in the 2026–27 school year at an annual cost of $55,000.
Board members voted 6–0 with one absence to accept the contract after a motion by Jason Vida and a second by Shane Hillard. The contract will provide athletic training services for the district; board discussion did not include changes to scope beyond the three-year term and the annual cost presented.
The board also approved an overnight, out-of-district trip for the high-school Robotics Team to Saginaw State University from April 16–18, 2026, and approved a 5th-grade overnight trip to Camp Michindoh Oct. 6–9, 2026. Both trip motions passed unanimously among members present.
Superintendent Scott L. Huard and Athletic Director Mirandia Green had presented the items; board minutes note the district has continued athletics and trainer support planning as part of seasonal sports operations. The motions record standard contingencies and will be implemented per district trip and contract policies.
