The Whiteford Agricultural Schools Board of Education voted unanimously on Dec. 8 to adopt a package of NEOLA policy updates following a second reading. The updates include replacements and rescissions to nondiscrimination and anti-harassment policies, technical corrections to Section 504/ADA references, updates to curriculum and approved courses, graduation requirements, web accessibility and information-security policies, and edits to student-records policy.
Superintendent Scott L. Huard presented the list of policy changes and recommended board approval. Board Member Janelle Hauser moved to adopt the policies and the motion passed 4-0 (three members absent).
Key items adopted: replacement nondiscrimination and equal-employment-opportunity policies (Policies 1422/3122/4122), rescissions of certain genetic-information and anti-harassment policies, technical corrections to Section 504/ADA references (Policies 1623/3123/4123), updates to Policy 5460 (graduation requirements), Policy 5517.01 (bullying), Policy 7540.02 (web accessibility), Policy 8305 (information security), and Policy 8330 (student records). The minutes list 26 policies by number that were approved as part of the package.
Board members and administrators said the updates align district policies with current statutory and regulatory expectations; the minutes do not record extended debate or public comment on the package. The board recorded the motion and vote in the minutes; no amendments were recorded.
