Cabot students, teachers and staff honored for All‑State Band placements, leadership and Purple Up recognition

Superintendent Dr. Tony Thurman and Principal Carrie Lair noted that Cabot Panther Academy was recognized at Leadership Day at the Capitol for Alternative Education as one of the top five schools; Mrs. Lair said the school has earned that recognition for eight consecutive years.
Emily Taylor, the district's Director of Counseling, announced April 11 as Purple Up Day in Arkansas as part of the Month of the Military Child. She said proceeds from Purple Up T-shirt sales will fund a scholarship for a military‑connected student and that Cabot was designated the first Purple Star School in 2020; the district reported it has the largest number of military‑connected students in the state.
The recognitions and curriculum announcements were presented as part of routine board reporting; no formal action was required or taken on these items during the meeting.
