Sterling Board of Finance takes no action on public-hearing comments; schedules town meeting for May 13

The Sterling Board of Finance met in special session April 29 and declined to take action on comments offered during the public hearing on the proposed 2026–2027 budgets, saying the remarks would be noted and considered but would not be acted on at the special meeting. The board announced the town meeting to vote on the budgets will be held Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m.
Chairman Bob Salisbury called the meeting to order at 7:58 p.m. Attendance was recorded as Salisbury; Vice Chairman Neil Delmonico; and members David Malo, James Molodich and Peter Rabbitt. Tracie Adams was absent with notice. Sara Sleboda is listed as recording secretary and Ashley StJean as administrative assistant (attending by Zoom).
On the proposed 2026–2027 Board of Education budget, the board said there were no relevant public-hearing comments that required formal action. On the proposed Board of Selectmen budget, members noted they had heard comments and would take those comments into consideration but again took no action at the special meeting.
Before adjourning, the board reiterated that the town meeting to vote on the budgets will occur May 13 at 7:00 p.m. Peter Rabbitt moved to adjourn; David Malo seconded. "All were in agreement," and the meeting was adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
