The Madison Parish Police Jury on Nov. 18 adopted Resolution 2025‑15, setting the 2025 E‑911 millage at 2.96 mills. The special session convened at 4:00 p.m. at the Courthouse Building in Tallulah and proceeded with a roll call that established a quorum.
District 1 Juror Jerry Hicks moved to issue the resolution approving and adopting the E‑911 millage rates; District 2 Juror Stanley Ogden seconded the motion. The resolution was read in full and the roll was called on its adoption. The jury voted unanimously in favor — Hicks, Ogden, Dave Wilson (District 3), Johnny Hughes (District 4) and President Jane Sanders (District 5) recorded yea votes; there were no nays, abstentions or absences.
RESOLUTION 2025‑15 states that the E‑911 millage of 2.96 mills is to be levied on the 2025 tax roll on all property subject to Madison Parish taxation and directs the proper administrative officials of the parish to spread and collect the taxes in accordance with law, making the taxes a permanent lien and privilege on taxed property.
No members of the public spoke during the public comment period at the start of the meeting. With no further business, Juror Jerry Hicks moved to adjourn; Juror Dave Wilson seconded the motion and the meeting was adjourned. The minutes were signed by Secretary/Treasurer Margarett Dew and President Jane Sanders.
