The board also approved the 2023–24 salary schedule on a motion by Board member Morris, seconded by Board member Triche; that vote recorded nine yeas and one nay (Burl).
On procurement and related finance items, the board authorized administration to file for and accept required documents for the Federal E-Rate grant for 2024–25 (Priority 1 and 2), and voted to allow the administration to file a request for proposals (RFP) for district internet service with optional DDoS protection for E-Rate years 2024–2029. Those motions were made by Mitchell-Williams (E-Rate filing) and Morris (internet RFP) and passed unanimously in the recorded roll calls (10 yeas; 1 absent — Vicknair).
The meeting minutes also show the board authorized the administration to advertise for several service contracts, including pest control, food-service equipment maintenance and welding supplies. Motions to advertise these contracts were carried by unanimous recorded votes (10 yeas; 1 absent).
