The board voted to approve the April minutes after Sal Pandolfo moved for approval and Mal Sockol seconded; the tally was recorded as 10 yes, 0 no and 1 abstention (Jan Sewell). Director Donna Tarutz then reviewed program highlights, including a May 13 presentation by the Natick Historical Society, an Ellenbogen low-vision support group, a sold-out Ogunquit trip and an intergenerational flower-making workshop.
Tarutz outlined a schedule of fraud-prevention programs beginning in July, including a session by the Middlesex County Sheriff and a joint presentation with the Natick Police Department on holiday shopping scams in November; a session on romance scams is planned for February. She also noted Citizens Bank will present on financial topics in the fall and Boston Scientific is sponsoring a men'9s health seminar.
Board members asked logistical questions about feedback mechanisms and space for exercise classes; Tarutz said oral feedback to staff is the standard and that she will look into room availability. Tarutz also confirmed the COA is subsidizing trips by $10 per person. The meeting record notes that town budget action provided an additional $7,000 for transportation.
The board received several routine subcommittee updates, including that staff are preparing materials for the Strategic Plan and that the Housing subcommittee will distribute an E-blast about a Community Preservation Act project called "Housing for All." The board set its next meeting for Monday, June 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM and adjourned at 3:15 PM after a motion by Mal Sockol and a second by Sal Pandolfo that passed unanimously.
