Sherwood Township hears code-inspection presentation and approves Wide Open West contract

Sherwood Township trustees on Oct. 3 heard a presentation from South Central Michigan Construction Code Inspections Inc. (SCMCCI) and approved a cable contract with Wide Open West (WOW).
Representatives Gail Huff and Chris Hamilton introduced SCMCCIand outlined how their inspection services operate, distributing informational packets and answering board questions. Supervisor Aaron Robbins said the board invites outside representatives periodically "to review our options occasionally and do research to keep up to date," explaining why SCMCCI was asked to present.
Clerk Marjorie Whitcomb asked the board to review and sign the WOW cable contract so it could be returned to the company. Supervisor Robbins moved to accept and sign the contract; Haack seconded and the board approved the motion. The minutes do not record a roll-call tally beyond noting the motion passed.
Other operational items discussed included a monitor well on the north side of Main Street near the 25 MPH ahead sign that two State of Michigan employees visited to locate, and board research concluding the township does not need a separate website at present because the township Facebook page is meeting current communication needs.
