At the July 16 meeting, the Warsaw Village Council reviewed finance and operational items, approved routine financial reports for June and discussed several items under old and new business.
Fiscal reports for June 2025 were distributed to council members; the minutes record an All Funds total of $592,037.92, pooled investments of $179,940.47 and an available primary checking balance of $412,097.45. The council moved to approve the finance reports during the meeting.
Under old business, council members noted a $2,000 donation that had been earmarked for a digital sign and included in the village's CDBG grant for 2026. Frontier Power agreed the village may use those funds toward repairs at the gazebo on the village square instead.
Council members also received notice that contractors will begin work on the Coshocton'Warsaw water project, and were alerted that traffic slowdowns may occur at times along State Route 36. In new business, Mayor Ed Kent, Village Administrator Ed Robinette and Fiscal Officer Tammy Pope planned to meet with another attorney to interview for the village solicitor position, and the council discussed providing uniform clothing options for village employees.
Jerry Funk read a letter to staff and council announcing he will not run for another term after more than 30 years of service; he said he will finish the remaining months of his current term. The minutes record that the next monthly meeting will be Aug. 26, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
