The East Hampton Housing Authority convened its regular meeting Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bellwood Court Community Room and via Zoom. The board adopted the agenda from Jan. 15 and approved the Jan. 15 minutes, each by a 4-0 recorded vote.
Executive Director David Schumacher reported routine monthly items and upcoming dates: the Valentine’s Day party was successful; a St. Patrick’s Day party is planned for the week of March 16; fire blankets have arrived and will be distributed after a demonstration by the fire department; a temporary sidewalk is being installed near Building A; J. D’Amelia paperwork will be sent on March 2; residents should begin assembling rent recertification documents; and a fire inspection of the community rooms is scheduled for March 2. Schumacher also noted one handicap ramp is in and that Ed will install it to check fit once the snow melts.
During the meeting’s public-comment period, residents raised operational concerns. Marilyn Gerzabek of 10 Bellwood asked whether the vendor Grasshopper could shovel back doors in case of emergencies. Katrina Harzman (C-7) thanked the board and Grasshopper crew for their efforts. A resident identified as Vreni (8 Bellwood) voiced an opinion about Grasshopper’s work; the transcript does not provide the comment verbatim.
The meeting record lists financial statements for board review and reports no outstanding bills. The board adjourned at 10:59 a.m. after a motion by Judie Bobbi and a second by Liz Whitty; the adjournment was recorded 4-0.
