At its Feb. 17 meeting the Economic Development Commission circulated ordinance and abatement application documents for members to review ahead of a future discussion.
Town Manager David Cox briefed commissioners on the status of several tax abatements: one abatement currently active will not see its first abatement until the 2026 tax year; one abatement concluded for the 2025 tax year (Global Storage); and the KOCO building abatement appeared on the 2024 grand list for the 2023 tax year. Members were asked to review the ordinance and application materials to ensure they align with goals in the Plan of Conservation and Development.
No changes to the ordinance were adopted at the meeting; commissioners plan to revisit the documents at a future session after members have reviewed the materials.
