Town Planner Juliet Hodge updated the Economic Development Commission on the Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) outreach at the Feb. 17 meeting.
Hodge reported that two focus groups — covering housing and economic development — had already gathered public input. According to the minutes, participants emphasized preferences for restaurants, small businesses and recreational spaces and discussed development in the Village Center. The public survey remained open and the planner said the next focus groups will address infrastructure and the Village Center, with sessions on open space and agriculture scheduled for March.
Commissioners discussed how the POCD findings could shape economic development and agreed to encourage public participation in upcoming sessions. No formal policy changes were adopted at the meeting; the update was informational and intended to guide later recommendations.
