The Town of East Hampton Economic Development Commission voted to nominate Romeo’s Jewelry Design as Business of the Month for March at its Feb. 17 meeting.
Chairwoman Mary Milewski moved to nominate Romeo’s Jewelry Design and Mr. Todd Schrager seconded; the motion passed 4-0 with Nicole Romeo recusing herself from the vote. Members discussed drafting an article to run in the Rivereast and taking a photo of the nominated business in March; Chairwoman Milewski said she would submit the write‑up and Mr. Walt Jedziniak would supply the photograph for publication.
Commissioners also discussed outreach to local businesses and possible features honoring long‑standing establishments. Members noted that the owner of Dexter’s and the owner of The Pinshack were each deciding whether to close or sell, and suggested drafting a profile or appreciation piece for those businesses if they leave the community.
Procedural business at the meeting included unanimous adoption of the agenda, approval of the Dec. 16, 2025 meeting minutes, and a 5‑0 vote to adjourn at 6:26 P.M. (all votes recorded in meeting minutes). No municipal funds were approved for promotion at the meeting; members agreed to use existing channels (Rivereast and social media) to publicize nominations.
