Mount Kisco ARB approves storefront signage, chimney work, stucco siding and security gate

At its Oct. 16 meeting the Mount Kisco Architectural Review Board unanimously approved multiple exterior and signage applications, including channel-letter signs for K-1 Speed, awnings and lettering for businesses on S. Moger Avenue, a chimney-to-flue replacement, a siding change to stucco and a new security gate at Bet Torah.
The Mount Kisco Architectural Review Board unanimously approved a slate of exterior and signage applications at its Oct. 16 meeting, taking action on storefront signs, a residential siding change, a chimney alteration and a security gate.
Chairman Daniel Loughney opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Frank J. DiMicco Board Room. The board—Nicholas Bagley, James Vallejos, Andy Gonzalez and Daniel Gagliardi—was present along with Assistant Building Inspector Bill Seegmuller.
Rocco Larizza of 57 N. Moger Avenue presented plans to replace an existing chimney with a flue pipe, stating the color and finish will match the adjacent façade; Nick Bagley moved to approve and Andy Gonzalez seconded; the motion carried with all ayes.
The board approved a channel-letter sign and a rear channel-letter sign for Canvas Medical Spa at 53 S. Moger Avenue after hearing from James Polinsky of Signs Ink Ltd. The approval (motion by James Vallejos; second by Daniel Gagliardi) was recorded as unanimous.
Viktor Solarik of VKS Architects asked the board to amend the comprehensive sign package for Hermosa Restaurant at 36 E. Main Street so that the proposed Hermosa sign becomes the comprehensive package for the address; Dan Gagliardi moved approval and James Vallejos seconded. The board approved the amendment unanimously.
David Royce of K-1 Speed presented renderings for a channel-letter sign and a lighted box sign for 333 N. Bedford Road. Nick Bagley moved to approve the signage; Andy Gonzalez seconded and the board voted all ayes.
At 41 S. Moger Avenue the board approved an awning and associated awning lettering for Yoga Six, presented by Greg Sahagian of Gregory Sahagian & Son, Inc., making that color and lettering the new comprehensive sign package for the address (motion by Dan Gagliardi; second by James Vallejos). The board then approved a matching awning and signage for Indulgence Beauty Bar at the same address; Andy Gonzalez moved and Dan Gagliardi seconded the approval.
Vinny Legato of 11 Valley View Terrace requested replacement of existing house siding with a stucco finish and provided photos and a sample image of the proposed material. James Vallejos moved to approve the siding change; Dan Gagliardi seconded and the board voted unanimously to approve.
Sarah Dirsa of KG+D Architects presented plans, elevations and renderings for a new security gate at Bet Torah to be located on the south side of the property adjacent to Moore Avenue; Nick Bagley moved approval, Dan Gagliardi seconded and the motion passed with all ayes.
The board approved the minutes of Sept. 18, 2024 (motion by Nick Bagley; second by Dan Gagliardi; all ayes). No correspondence was received. The meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
Actions recorded for each item included the maker and seconder of the motions and a unanimous board vote; no formal conditions, continuances or denials were recorded in the minutes.
