Liquor board approves multiple ownership transfers and sets deadlines for outstanding paperwork

The Frederick County Liquor Board on April 13 approved a series of ownership transfers, often subject to completion of outstanding paperwork and occasional reinspections.

Katen (Kopton) Furnace Liquors: Board granted conditional approval through July 31, 2026 for the transfer of ownership. Applicants said they will be active in day‑to‑day operations and intend to have sales staff alcohol‑awareness certified; a management agreement was used to bridge the settlement gap.

Akira Ramen: The board approved an ownership transfer effective immediately; the restaurant was already operating and staff confirmed training and operational continuity. The patio endorsement issue was resolved when applicants withdrew patio use.

RH Pub: Prospective buyers who described plans to continue live music and the pub’s community role received conditional approval through May 31 pending correction of sales & use address mismatches and final occupancy paperwork.

Dash In (convenience store and fuel branding): Buyers of a convenience store with Dash In fuel branding were conditionally approved through June 30, 2026; staff listed outstanding items including the bulk transfer permit, sales & use documentation, workers’ comp and the lease/assignment required after settlement.

Across transfers staff emphasized practical steps to avoid operational gaps during closings: renewals and short management agreements can bridge licensing gaps during settlement, but buyers must supply tax releases, proof of workers’ compensation and any occupancy or zoning updates before final license changes are issued.
