Chester Finance Committee approves minutes, notes new accountant and $100,000 in Free Cash

The Chester Finance Committee approved and signed prior meeting minutes and recorded a new hire in the town finance staff at its Feb. 19 meeting.
Florence (Flo) Bolduc called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and signed the approved minutes, which she said she will deliver to the town clerk. The committee was told a new town accountant, Margaret McClellan, has been hired and will begin work in two weeks.
Committee members reported the town's Free Cash balance is approximately $100,000. Members began reviewing departmental budget submissions that had been consolidated on a master sheet. Bob Daley asked that the Water Department be placed on the Finance Committee’s next agenda after the Water Department schedules a public progress and rate hearing for March 11, 2026.
The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m. The minutes record the next Finance Committee meeting on March 5, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the COA room.
