At the Dadeville City Council meeting, department representatives provided routine operational reports and upcoming event support.
The police department reported handling 289 calls in February and flagged recurring crashes at the intersection of East Louthat and Highway 280. The police representative also described the March 21 "kiddos and cops" fundraiser at the track, which the department will escort to support Dadeville High School's track team's fundraising efforts. "We respond to 289 calls," the police representative said, noting intersection safety concerns.
A fire department representative described preparedness work, including training and equipment checks. "The company came in and tested all our fire pumps, everything, all of our trucks," the fire representative said, adding that testing ensures readiness when calls arrive.
Council and street staff also noted recent alley cleanup and maintenance performed by the street department, aided by volunteers and the education board's free labor. The mayor said staff is working with property owners to resolve easement issues required for a forthcoming project.
No new ordinances or budget changes were proposed in these reports; comments were delivered as informational updates to the council.
