Clerk/Treasurer Brenda South told the council the village is required to make tax records publicly available under state rules and that BS&A sent a contract to help the village meet the State Treasury's requirements. The council voted to sign the BS&A contract and to purchase a new desktop computer, monitor and IT labor to transfer files.
President Dave Hornbacher moved for the contract and Trustee Steve Orlandi supported the motion. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
Why it matters: the change implements a state requirement for public access to tax records and requires an update to the village’s hardware and IT support to migrate tax files.
Next steps: staff will sign the BS&A contract and proceed with the IT purchase and file transfer to make tax records available as required.
