The Chester Selectboard on March 2 approved the creation of an Open Space Plan Committee and took several routine municipal appointments.
Selectboard member Brian Forgue moved to create the Open Space Plan Committee; Craig Gauthier seconded and the motion passed. The board discussed expected committee composition, with Bob Daley recommending representation from the Conservation Commission, Water Department and Planning Board. Veronica Marr volunteered to serve; Forgue said he would contact a Conservation Commission member and asked staff to consider including Liz Massa in her capacity as Parks and Trails Director.
Terry Donovan of the Town Clerk's office presented appointment paperwork for the Board of Registrars. Carol Hepworth had been added to the nominee list within 48 hours of the meeting. Brian Forgue moved to waive the two-week waiting period; Craig Gauthier seconded and the motion passed. Forgue then moved to appoint Keirsen Broman, Holly Garvey and Carol Hepworth to the Board of Registrars; Craig Gauthier seconded and the motion passed.
Town Administrator Andrew Alward also announced that the Chester on Track parade is scheduled for Saturday, May 16; both Forgue and Gauthier agreed to lead the parade at the Foundation's request. Alward reported that town employees began using the Harper's payroll timeclock system that day and said only a single employee sign-in issue had been reported and resolved.
The Selectboard approved the committee creation and the appointments during the meeting that opened at 6:00 p.m. and adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
