East Longmeadow Recreation Commission elects Bill Rinaldi chair after Calandruccio steps down

Town Manager Tom Christensen told commissioners the town expects the Recreation Commission to support the Recreation Department by helping at events and assisting with Community Preservation Committee (CPC) applications, among other advisory and volunteer roles. Christensen’s comments were offered in response to the commission’s request for clarity on its responsibilities.
Commission members stressed practical support functions such as volunteer assistance at events, and noted the commission can play a role in planning and advocacy when department staff seek funding or CPC support. The commission recorded attendance of Don LePage, Carolyn Bliss and Donna Prather; Nancy Roberts was absent.
