The Johnson County Commission completed two sets of board appointments June 22, reappointing one member to the Economic Development Authority and filling two seats on the county E911 board.
Clerk reviewed four EDA applicants. The commission nominated and reappointed Jim Green to the EDA seat; the motion passed on a roll-call vote. Chairman Bill Nance thanked applicants and noted appreciation for those willing to serve.
For the E911 board, staff reviewed eight applicants with public-safety and communications experience, including current and retired emergency personnel. Bill Knight was nominated and reappointed to one seat; Ryan Putman, who serves as the current vice chairman of the 911 board and works for the Scottsboro Police Department, was nominated and reappointed to the second seat. Commissioners indicated the county will send letters and notifications to the appointees.
The commission concluded the appointments portion of new business and moved to the work session.
