Hillsdale board hires two staff, accepts donations and approves sale and vehicle purchases

Board members approved participating in Schools of Choice under sections 105 and 105c, and set the district’s mileage reimbursement rate to match the federal 2025 rate. The board accepted donations of $500 from the Randall & Nancy Guise Foundation and $2,800 from the Spratt Family for Hillsdale High School Robotics.
The board sold a skid steer to Chad Buell for $7,500 and approved purchasing a 2025 Ford F-350 from Stillwell Ford for $77,248; the truck purchase motion carried with six yes votes and one abstention by Nicole Hoffman. The board also approved buying a bus from Midwest Transit for $145,780. All other motions passed by recorded unanimous votes where noted.
Superintendent Ted Davis also reported that Gier Elementary was not selected from 189 applicants for the Justice40 Clean Air Grant. The meeting adjourned at 6:26 p.m.
