The Board of Education of the Corning Community Schools unanimously approved the district Emergency Operations Plan for 2025–2026 at its Oct. 21 regular meeting.
Directors approved routine business earlier in the meeting: the agenda was approved (moved by Trent Roberts, seconded by Stephanie Hodapp); the consent agenda was approved (moved by Hodapp, seconded by Roberts) and included approval of the September 2025 minutes, Board Policy 106, a contract offer to L Hogan for the Communications Coordinator position, open-enrollment movements (1 student to Clayton Ridge; 3 to Lenox; 1 to Creston; 2 Creston students to Corning; 2 Villisca students to Corning), and fundraiser requests. Director Stephanie Hodapp moved and Director Trent Roberts seconded approval of claims as submitted; that motion also carried unanimously.
Board members discussed first readings of a series of policies (208, 208R1, 401.01, 502.07, 507.02, 607.02, 701.1, 708, 710.1E1, 802.02, 804.05) and a proposed rescission of 208E1; no final votes on those policy readings were recorded. The minutes note that the director marked with an asterisk, Stephanie Hodapp, left the meeting at 8:06 p.m. and returned at 8:08 p.m.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn (moved by Hodapp, seconded by Roberts); the meeting adjourned at 8:58 p.m.
The board will take up the property-sale hearing and any additional items at future meetings as posted in board notices.
