Sevierville board approves consent items including equipment repairs, event barriers, AED pads and emergency plan revisions

The board approved a package of routine expenditures and contract amendments: street sweeper repairs, pump station engineering amendment, fencing, headworks screen repairs, event barrier rental, AED pad replacement, and revisions to the city's Emergency Operations and Continuity of Operations plans; staff also introduced several new police and fire personnel.
At the April 20 meeting the Sevierville Board approved a series of routine operational items and expenditures presented by staff.
Approved items included: a proprietary-source repair for a street sweeper from CMI Equipment Sales, Inc. for $11,360.30 plus a 10% contingency; contract amendment #1 with OHM Advisors for $16,000 plus expenses for additional engineering services on the Old Newport Highway booster pump station; fencing around the Collier Drive pump station with Exquisite Fencing and Design for $11,959; additional repairs to wastewater headworks screens from sole-source OEM Andritz Separation, Inc. for $69,130.62; temporary barrier rental for the Bloomin' BBQ event from Meridian Barriers for $10,120; and replacement adult and pediatric AED pads from Zoll Medical Corporation for $17,299.80. The board also approved an Improvement Zone fee recommendation of $1,875 per EDU for new sewer connections in the Walters State Community College basin.
Shwan Crawford presented revisions to the city's Emergency Operation Plan and Continuity of Operations Plan as discussed at the preceding workshop; the board approved those revisions. Matt Henderson and Joseph Manning introduced and recognized newly hired and promoted fire and police personnel during the reports portion of the meeting.
All listed expenditures and amendments were approved by motion recorded in the minutes; most were described as sole source or low-price vendor purchases as noted by staff.
