Sevierville's board on Feb. 2 approved a bundle of capital purchases, contract task orders and a construction change order covering water, wastewater, public works equipment, facility HVAC and website maintenance.
Water and wastewater: Keith Malone asked the board to approve task order 18 and an MOU with Ardurra Engineering for $66,218 to relocate water mains tied to the Veterans Boulevard extension; Malone noted the work is Chapter 86 reimbursable. Malone also presented change order #5 for the McCroskey Island wastewater treatment plant expansion with Judy Construction Co. in the amount of $48,129.05 for caulking, pipe supports, valve extensions, heat trace and miscellaneous items; the board approved both actions.
Equipment and facilities: Malone requested purchase of a Liebert cooling unit for the water plant control room from sole area provider Gwyn Sales for $89,622; Malone said staff does not recommend changing unit types because of the critical systems the equipment supports. Doug Tarwater requested and the board approved purchases of three arrow boards from CMI under state contract SWC225-72850 for $19,995, two 30‑ton rooftop HVAC units for City Hall from Hoffman & Hoffman under Omnia cooperative contract #R240901 for $143,018, and a skid steer wheel saw attachment from Stowers Caterpillar under state contract SWC225-72872 for $35,812.80.
Technology: The board approved a website maintenance expenditure with Civic Plus for $32,468.10.
All motions were recorded as "carried" in the meeting minutes; individual roll-call tallies beyond items explicitly recorded elsewhere were not included in the transcript excerpt. Staff will proceed to execute the contracts and procurements according to the applicable state or cooperative contracting rules and the city's procurement policies.
