Sevierville approves annexation steps and first-read zoning for Middle Creek Road parcel

The Sevierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen on April 20 approved a Plan of Services resolution (R2026-004) and an annexation resolution (R2026-005) related to a portion of Tax Map 062, Parcel 025.00 on Middle Creek Road. Both resolutions were approved on first reading to begin the annexation process.
Mayor Fox then presented ordinance O2026-003 to place an Intermediate Commercial (IC) zoning district designation on the parcel included in the annexation and ordinance O2026-004 to rezone the property from Low Density Residential (LDR) to Intermediate Commercial (IC). Both ordinances passed on first reading by unanimous vote.
City staff indicated the measures are initial procedural steps: R2026-004 sets the plan of services for the property and R2026-005 formally annexes the territory on first reading, while O2026-003 and O2026-004 advance the zoning classification concurrent with annexation. Board members approved the actions without recorded dissent. Further readings or statutory notice requirements may be required before final annexation and rezoning take effect.
