Commission grants conceptual approval for Caton Road condominium revision adding 30 units

Sevierville — The Sevierville Regional Planning Commission on Jan. 6 granted conceptual approval for a revised condominium plan on Caton Road that removes an approved hotel and restaurant and adds 30 residential units.
Development Director Corey Divel said the northwest portion of the site originally approved for a hotel and restaurant has been revised to add 30 residential units, which staff determined better fits the character of the adjacent neighborhood. Preliminary plans submitted with the revision include improving Caton Road with a 24-foot pavement section, curb and gutter on one side and a sidewalk on the other.
Commissioner Daryl Roberts moved to approve the item as presented; Commissioner Shane Patterson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Staff noted prior comments about Caton Road improvements have been addressed in the preliminary plans; final design and any required construction would be subject to subsequent approvals and detailed engineering.
