Other neighbors described recurring trespass and public-safety concerns. One resident said people were cutting through yards to reach the house and that vagrants were entering a collapsing garage. Eric Marcato said the property has caused “a lot of headache, no peace” for nearby homeowners, blamed rats and broken fencing, and recounted a midnight incident that prompted a 911 call. Rob, a neighbor who recently purchased a home next to the property, said he is installing cameras and suggested a neighborhood crime-watch while the township addresses the matter.
Board members asked staff to coordinate with the police department, public works and legal counsel to identify options. “Mark, can you get with the police department and with public works? I’d like to know what … and probably with our legal counsel and see what we can do,” a supervisor said; staff replied they would look into it next week. The remarks came during the meeting’s public-comment period. The petition was offered to township staff for follow-up.
