The Fremont Business Improvement District voted unanimously June 16 to authorize up to $800 to hire technicians to repair the downtown speaker system ahead of John C. Fremont Days.
Lainey Paquette presented a map showing which speakers were functioning and which were not and circulated a letter from Jason House, the new owner of Audio Video, offering a discounted hourly rate and staff to perform repairs. Howard Krasne moved to hire repair assistance up to a cost cap of $800; Kevin Main seconded the motion, which carried 7-0. Lainey Paquette will coordinate scheduling of the repairs. The minutes note that board member Daniel Cech left the meeting at 12:55 p.m.
No additional funding sources or follow-up reporting requirements were established at the meeting.
