The city manager reminded council the agreement had been approved in October but deferred pending the facility opening; with a new council seated, staff returned the agreement with a proposed effective date of Dec. 1. “By moving it to December 1, we saved the city $20,000,” the city manager said.
Council moved and seconded the item and approved it by roll-call vote. There was no substantial amendment to the agreement text at the meeting, and staff said the YMCA will assume management of the aquatics facility when it opens.
The approval was procedural and did not include further city obligations beyond those specified in the management agreement under review; staff will monitor implementation once the facility opens.
