Susquehanna planners consider commercial recreation fee; staff will study impacts

Planner Mack Breech said the proposed program would require a study to determine appropriate scope and fee levels and to ensure consistency with existing township planning documents. "The Official Map is generally consistent with the Township99s planning documents," Breech said earlier in the meeting about a separate item, emphasizing staff99s focus on aligning proposals with adopted plans.
Commissioners asked about the cost implications. Mitchell Kemp said development costs already are rising and questioned whether adding a new fee would exacerbate that trend. Commissioner Gary Rothrock said administrative costs and staff time might outweigh revenue from small fees.
No formal action was taken; staff said the study will inform any future ordinance and fee structure and that comments received at this meeting would be folded into further analysis.
