Authority approves design and survey contracts for Asylum Run mini-basin work; OKs Fox Run station payments and easement

At its March 3 meeting, the Susquehanna Township Authority approved a series of infrastructure and stormwater-related contracts and payments.
Engineer Joel Kostelac presented a GHD proposal to rehabilitate Asylum Run Mini-Basin AR-22M_E and to include nearby AR-22N because of identified structural issues; the board approved the design proposal in the amount of $292,000. The board also approved a survey proposal from Honor Engineer Company for AR-22N for $7,265.
The Authority confirmed a Temporary Easement Agreement and a Settlement Agreement and Release for 1127 Countryside Drive to permit sewer replacements tied to the Fox Run Forest main replacement project. The board approved two applications for payment from Manada Electric for Contract 3 of the Fox Run Pump Station Upgrade — $10,800 and $17,415.
Mr. Kostelac also presented a GHD proposal to review and update the Authority's tapping-fee calculations (the last comprehensive update was in 2018). The board approved the tapping-fee review proposal in the amount of $6,800; Kostelac said the update would incorporate capital projects completed since 2018 and adjust historical costs using the ENR index. Solicitor Stan Laskowski advised there were no current legal impediments to proceeding.
Public Works reported that fencing has been installed at the Olympus Heights and Fort Hunter pump stations and thanked the board for approving purchase of a Hitachi excavator the township has since acquired. All motions in this package carried unanimously.
