Susquehanna Township approves playground replacement, police‑station upgrades and two street‑sweeping contracts

Director of Parks and Recreation Doug Knauss presented three repair options for the Veterans Park tot lot: a no‑cost patch, a poured‑in‑place surface (estimated $71,280, installation excluded) and a SofSurface tile system (estimated $78,244.13). After discussion of past tile performance and warranty coverage, Commissioner Richard Norford moved to approve the SofSurface tile contract not to exceed $78,244.13 from the DevRec Fund; Commissioner Gary Rothrock seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The board also approved two contractor proposals for the Susquehanna Township Police Station’s first floor: Anderson Pro Painting at $35,560 for painting (excluding electrical room P135) and Commercial Flooring Professionals, Inc. at $57,039.86 to replace first‑floor flooring. Commissioner Sean Sanderson moved to approve the painting contract and Commissioner Carl Hisiro moved to approve the flooring contract; both motions carried unanimously.
Manager Theresa Eberly presented a CoStars contract (008‑E22‑943) from RiverView Mechanical LLC to install a mini‑split cooling unit in the administration IT room to protect critical equipment, at a cost of $9,728.92. Commissioner Pamela Cross moved to approve the installation, and the motion passed unanimously.
Interim Public Works Director Travis Mease presented two intermunicipal cooperation agreements for street sweeping — one with Penbrook Borough and an identical agreement with Middle Paxton Township — effective Feb. 12, 2026 through Jan. 1, 2027, each at a fixed daily fee of $800. Commissioner Carl Hisiro asked whether the fee covered labor, maintenance and expenses; staff responded that the fee does cover those costs and that crews would sweep for those municipalities for a week. Both agreements were approved by unanimous vote.
All procurement contracts and intermunicipal agreements voted on at the meeting were approved without recorded dissent. The approved project funding sources and contract amounts were described in the meeting motions; no individual roll‑call vote tally was read into the record.
