Fire Marshal George Drees told the board the Township seeks to purchase a fire engine from Glick Fire Equipment at a cost not to exceed $1,149,490. He outlined a payment schedule in which, if the order were placed Feb. 27, the Township would be invoiced $633,538 on May 1 and make a final payment upon delivery in 2030. Drees reviewed available grant requests and budget allocations to support the purchase.
Commissioner Sean Sanderson moved to approve the purchase 'at a cost not to exceed $1,149,490' with the specified May 1 payment condition; Commissioner Richard Norford seconded. Commissioners asked what would happen to the engine being replaced; staff responded the replaced engine will be sold. The motion carried unanimously.
The board authorized the Township Manager and appropriate staff to execute the procurement steps necessary to place the order and manage grant and budget actions tied to the purchase.
