Salem Township supervisors unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the township to enter into a grant agreement with the Commonwealth Financing Authority for a $340,000 PA Small Water & Sewer grant at their Feb. 18 meeting.
Supervisor Kerry Jobe explained the funding is for the Tower Lane and Apple Lane waterline extension project and said the resolution allows township officials to sign the grant agreement once the paperwork is returned. "This is for the $340,000 that we asked for under the PA small sewer & water grant program," Jobe said during the motion. The board voted 3‑0 in favor (mover: Bob Zundel; second: Todd Paulich).
The resolution (9‑2026) was approved after brief consideration; the minutes record no public opposition. The grant acceptance moves the project from planning into the implementation phase, subject to any grant conditions and procurement steps required by the grant agreement.
Township staff will proceed with executing the agreement and coordinating any required engineering or bidding processes to complete the waterline extension.
