Salem Township supervisors declare local disaster emergency and set Feb. 18 hearing

Supervisor Kerry Jobe, Supervisor Bob Zundel and Supervisor Todd Paulich unanimously approved a local disaster declaration for Salem Township and adopted Resolution 8-2026 during an emergency conference-call meeting on Jan. 25.
The motion to approve the declaration and adopt "A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SALEM, COUNTY OF WESTMORELAND, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA APPROVING A DECLARATION OF LOCAL DISASTER EMERGENCY" (Resolution 8-2026) was made by Supervisor Bob Zundel and seconded by Supervisor Todd Paulich. Supervisor Kerry Jobe relayed that the action "was highly recommended by both Fred Cecchini and Bobby Rosetti." The three supervisors voted in favor and the motion passed unanimously.
The board then approved a motion to adjourn, made by Supervisor Todd Paulich and seconded by Supervisor Bob Zundel. The adjournment motion also passed unanimously. The supervisors set a public hearing for Feb. 18, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., to be followed by the regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Salem Township Municipal Building. The emergency meeting adjourned at 6:46 p.m.
