Salem Township supervisors authorized an emergency declaration Jan. 21 for immediate repairs to a traffic‑signal pole damaged in an accident at the US‑22, Route‑119 and Operators Way intersection and approved Standard Form Agreements with Bronder Technical Services for repairs at two intersections.
The emergency declaration followed a recommendation from Traffic Control for immediate repairs. Supervisors also authorized agreements to repair signals at Route 22 & Route 819 and at Route 22 & Hollywood Boulevard, subject to the final review and approval of the township solicitor. Supervisor Kerry Jobe said associate Ryan Thomas revised the agreement to add language about contract termination; the agreements remain subject to solicitor acceptance.
The accident was reported to the township’s insurance company and the board noted it has already received a partial reimbursement. Separately, supervisors approved final permit plans for a Route 22 traffic-signal upgrade after PennDOT completed testing with Brodner (the contractor referenced in testing).
