Lynn Disability Commission approves annual-report template, will finalize figures later
Summary
The Lynn Disability Commission accepted an annual-report template at its June 2 meeting, agreed to replace any language that commits them to forming a subcommittee with softer "explore" language, and asked the chair to add updated financial figures before final approval.

Michelle Waterman Williams, chair of the Lynn Disability Commission, called the meeting to order and introduced a draft annual report the commission can use to summarize activities, attendance and recommendations for the mayor’s office or council leadership.
The template lays out the commission’s mission, membership list, meeting attendance, sponsorships and suggested goals. The chair said the draft is intended to make the commission’s work easier to share with city decision-makers and asked members for edits and direction about where the report should be sent.
Commissioners discussed a requested change to language about creating a subcommittee: members agreed to replace “establish” with “explore” to avoid committing the commission before clarifying bylaws and time commitments. The draft also will incorporate updated financial numbers; members noted $75,000 tied to an ADA self-assessment and transition-plan remains in bid evaluation and has not been spent.
After discussion, members voted to accept the template for further editing and to return a final version for formal approval at the next meeting, once the updated financial figures are added.
The chair said she will contact City staff (including Jim Lamman) to determine the appropriate recipient of the annual report and circulate a revised draft to members prior to the next meeting.
Ending: The commission carried the motion to accept the template as amended and set a plan to finalize the report with inserted financials at a future meeting.
