Board previews major body‑art regulation changes and coordinates Wait Road response

Board staff told the City of Lynn Board of Health that the city is preparing a substantial upgrade to its body‑art regulations and plans outreach with local establishments to explain changes.
A staff member said there is “a ginormous jump from the current Lynn regulations to the ones that we want to go to,” adding that a version one draft had been available and many shops are aware changes are coming because they also operate in neighboring communities with similar regulations. Staff proposed holding listening sessions so establishments can hear the proposed changes and ask questions.
Separately, staff gave an update on Wait Road: the assistant city solicitor appeared in district court and the city is scheduling an interagency meeting next week with the behavioral health unit, Lynn Police, a cleanup company and the communications team to coordinate services and reduce community impacts. Staff said outreach had already begun but some properties were not answering doors; the board asked for another update in July after the interagency meeting.
Board members also requested a Robert’s Rules training from the assistant city solicitor to improve meeting procedure and motions during a future board meeting.
