Middlefield elects representatives to regional boards and committees

At the Annual Town Budget Meeting on May 11, 2026, electors in Middlefield chose representatives to several regional boards and committees.
Lucy Petrella moved to re-elect Frank Petrella to the Durham Middlefield Interlocal Agreement Advisory Board for the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2028 term, seconded by Melizza Kowal. Jason Wickham moved to re-elect Charles Zieminski, seconded by Lori Helmedach. With no further nominations, Moderator David Lowry called for a voice vote and both motions carried.
On the Regional School District 13 Board of Education, Jared Perlin moved to elect Timothy Viens, seconded by Joann Tuttle. The motion carried by voice vote; the meeting tabled the second seat to a future town meeting.
Dr. Linda Darcy moved to elect herself to the Board of Education Finance Committee for the July 1, 2025–June 30, 2027 term, seconded by Lori Helmedach; the motion carried by voice vote. Steven Taylor moved to elect himself to the Board of Education Finance Committee for the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2028 term, seconded by First Selectman Robert Yamartino; his motion also carried by voice vote.
The elections concluded without recorded roll-call tallies. The meeting minutes record the winners and note the one remaining Board of Education seat will be filled at a subsequent town meeting.
