Additional speakers (Azzam Alhammadi, Adam Muda and Abdul Latif) echoed the request and described the variable timing of the holidays on the lunar calendar, noting that some years the dates fall on weekends and in others they fall on weekdays.
Committee response: The chair acknowledged the comments and said the committee would "look into this and we will circle back." The committee did not take a vote on the request at the May 4 meeting.
