Jeff Ward, chair of the Keep Mansfield Beautiful Committee, confirmed the townwide Spring Cleanup will take place Saturday, April 25, 2026, with a picnic on South Common and required permits already approved.
The committee outlined logistics and assignments: Kelly Kemp will update and print flyers and secure a banner; Danielle Dupre will update the website registration form; Pat Colbert will notify MEMA and community sports groups; Mike Healey will contact Stop & Shop for picnic volunteers and supply bottled water; and Jeff Ward ordered pizza for the event. The Board of Health issued the required permit (Permit CEF-26-001).
Members discussed volunteer equipment and supplies. The committee voted to appropriate $2,000 to purchase T-shirts, gloves and grabbers and to support picnic supplies; Danielle Dupre will also approach Home Depot about sponsorship for shirts or grabbers. The committee plans to recognize any corporate sponsor that provides material support.
Organizers said outreach will include electronic sign announcements, a photographer for the picnic, Park & Recreation coordination for recreational activities, and contacting marching bands or face-painting volunteers to enhance the family event.
The committee noted precinct-based cleanup assignments for downtown problem lots and encouraged using Adopt-a-Spot volunteer lists to recruit crew leaders. Next steps include finalizing printed materials and a pre-event Zoom meeting to coordinate volunteers and logistics.
