Holmdel High robotics teams honored for state-level success and Inspire Award

The Hornet Silver team was recorded as league champions and placed in the top half at the New Jersey state championships. The Hornet Blue team was also league champion and won the Inspire Award at a recent competition, an honor the presenter described as recognizing teamwork, program holism, problem-solving and collaboration. The district named advisors T.J. Buccino (high school engineering teacher) and Ryan O'Keefe (middle school technology teacher) and read team rosters for both squads.
District leaders thanked advisors, parents and mentors for their support and noted the significance of a feeder system that pairs high school mentors with middle school teams. The recognitions were presented publicly during the awards portion of the board meeting; no policy or budget action was recorded in connection with the honors.
