Supervisor Jeffrey Eyre called the Burlington Township Board to order at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 at Township Hall in Burlington and led the Pledge of Allegiance. The board recorded attendance and opened a two-minute public comment period.
The board approved the meeting agenda (with additions for website and BS&A administrator appointments) and approved the Nov. 14, 2024 regular meeting minutes. Treasurer Sara Converse made a written financial report available for review, and the board approved payment of bills totaling $34,367.90.
On personnel, the board approved a firefighter application for Joshua Mack after a motion by Supervisor Jeffrey Eyre and a second from Sara Converse. The board also made several appointments: Elizabeth Korn was appointed to the Board of Review with Tina Mack named alternate; Barton Boyer was named the board representative to the Planning Commission; and Robert Mack was appointed as the board representative to the Zoning Board of Appeals. The board appointed Sara Converse as the township's ADA compliance representative and granted her website administrator access and BS&A software administrator privileges.
The board approved a McNally Elevator Type 3 maintenance plan covering semi-annual inspections, oil and grease service, and state-required testing at a rate of $117.00 per month. The board asked staff to inquire whether McNally offers an annual payment option or a discount for annual payment.
On finance, the board authorized issuing a credit card to Treasurer Sara Converse through SMB&T with a $2,000 monthly limit and moved to add Converse to the township's accounts at SMB&T, KCCU, MCCU and Honor Credit Union. The board also approved two budget amendments: an addition of $4,000 to budget line #101-101-840 (Township Board Insurance) and $2,000 to budget line #101-265-953 (ADA Renovation Principal).
Supervisor Eyre reported he signed documents with Calhoun County to advance planned 2025 road work. Written reports from Zoning Administrator Paul Walker and Fire Chief Norm Smith were reviewed by the board. County Commissioner and Planning Chair Chad Blair were listed as absent.
The meeting was adjourned by Supervisor Eyre at 7:04 p.m. The minutes were later noted as proposed and signed by Clerk Darlene Mack and Supervisor Jeffrey Eyre on Jan. 9, 2025.
