Burlington Township approves six land divisions, hall window replacements and moves savings to money market

The Burlington Township Board at a July 11, 2024 meeting at Burlington Village Hall approved a series of land divisions, authorized building repairs and approved several routine financial actions.
The board approved six land division applications presented by Zoning Administrator Paul Walker. Motions were recorded approving Land Division #180 for Washburn Grain & Cattle (7 Mile Rd. and South County Line Rd.), #181 for Rebecca and Noel Spooner (7 Mile Rd.), #182 for Chad Blair (M Drive South), #183 for Sam Schwartz (M Drive South), #184 for Patricia Dotson (S Drive South and 7 Mile Rd.), and #185 for Kimberly Bridges (9½ Mile Rd. and O Drive South). Each land division motion carried following board motions and seconds.
Treasurer Susan Mack provided a written financial report and the board moved, on a motion by Susan Mack seconded by Barton Boyer, to pay bills totaling $107,974.49.
On facilities business, the board approved two Gutsue Construction change orders for township hall window work. Clerk Darlene Mack moved and Susan Mack seconded approval of Change Order #3 to replace basement windows and to pull, paint and reset metal bars at a cost of $900 per window; Supervisor Jeff Eyre was asked to confirm whether the change order covered three windows. Susan Mack moved and Supervisor Jeff Eyre seconded approval of Change Order #2 to replace four upstairs windows with vinyl replacements and new jamb extensions at a cost of $3,200.
Supervisor Jeff Eyre moved and Trustee Barton Boyer seconded a motion directing Zoning Administrator Paul Walker to proceed with issuing a citation for zoning non-compliance at 2624 11 Mile Rd.; the motion carried.
On banking, Clerk Darlene Mack moved and Supervisor Eyre seconded to move current savings account funds to a money market account at Honor Credit Union in order to secure a higher interest rate; that motion carried.
The meeting packet included a written report from Fire Chief Norm Smith, which the board reviewed; Chief Smith left on a medical call during the meeting. Planning Chair Chad Blair reported the planning commission is updating maps and that a new map storage cabinet has been donated to the township. The Building Committee reported that ADA-compliance renovations are proceeding.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m., the public comment period ran from 6:30 to 6:33 p.m., and Supervisor Eyre adjourned the meeting at 7:11 p.m. Draft minutes were recorded as approved on Aug. 8, 2024.
