Shelby City Council approves multiple construction payments and change orders

At its Oct. 3 meeting the Shelby City Council unanimously approved a change order for well improvements and several construction payments, including payments to Leroy & Sons, Precision Concrete Services and a final land payment for a housing subdivision.
The Shelby City Council on Oct. 3 approved a package of construction-related payments and a change order, all by unanimous roll-call votes.
Councilmember Pat Honeywell moved to approve the meeting agenda, with Councilmember Karen Schlueter seconding; Mayor Ron Kroll asked if there were any conflicts of interest and none were declared. The council then approved the consent agenda, which included meeting minutes, the treasurer’s report and claims.
On separate motions the council: approved Change Order No. 7 from V&K for Rieschick Drilling for improvements to wells 6, 7 and 8 in the amount of $55,596.67; certified substantial completion of the Shelby Residential Subdivision Project and authorized Payment #04 of $143,035.80 to Leroy & Sons; certified substantial completion of the Shelby Trail addition Project and authorized Payment #03 of $102,503.11 to Precision Concrete Services while approving Change Order No. 03, a $12,900 deduction from the original contract; and approved the final payment of $72,000 to Alan Hedegaard for land purchased for the housing subdivision. Each motion carried on roll call with all ayes.
The approvals were routine, with no recorded dissent or extended debate in the meeting minutes. The council adjourned at 8:02 p.m.
