Albany mayor schedules Feb. 10 public hearing on proposed sewer tap-in and impact fees

Mayor Eileen Bates-McCarroll told the Town of Albany council on Jan. 13 that proposed residential and commercial sewer tap-in and impact fee rates for properties inside and outside the town limits have been introduced and will be the subject of a public hearing on Feb. 10 at 5:45 p.m. The council is scheduled to vote on the rates at the regular meeting that follows that hearing.
At the meeting the mayor also updated the council on other infrastructure items, including annexation discussions, the Highway 43 sewer project and an addition to the police department building. No fee amounts or draft ordinance language were included in the minutes; those details will be available at the public hearing or in the agenda packet for the subsequent council meeting.
Residents who wish to comment on the proposed fees may appear at the Feb. 10 hearing; the council’s vote on the measure will occur during its regular meeting immediately after the hearing.
