Albany council adopts adjusted millage rates in unanimous special meeting

The Town of Albany council unanimously approved two millage-related resolutions during a special public meeting Sept. 23, 2024, at Albany Town Hall.
Councilman Jerry Glascock moved to adopt Resolution #007-2024, "adopt the adjusted millage rate for tax year 2024," and Councilman Kim Stewart seconded. The vote was recorded as yeas from Councilmen Kim Stewart, Jerry Glascock, Don Onofry and J. Thomas; Councilman G. Stilley was absent. The motion passed with no discussion.
Shortly afterward, Councilman Don Onofry moved to adopt Resolution #008-2024 to "set forth the ‘general alimony’ adjusted millage rate and roll forward to millage rate not exceeding the maximum authorized rate;" Councilman Kim Stewart seconded. That motion also passed unanimously with the same four members voting in favor and one absent.
Town Clerk Kimberlee “Joey” Cooper was present and recorded the actions. Mayor Eileen Bates-McCarroll called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m.; Councilman Jerry Glascock moved to adjourn at the close of business and the motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 4:51 p.m.
The meeting minutes and signed record show the two resolutions (Nos. 007-2024 and 008-2024) and the signatures of Clerk Joey Cooper and Mayor Eileen Bates-McCarroll. The transcript records no substantive discussion or public comment on the resolutions during the session.
