Inland Wetlands Agency approves footbridge over Anna Sweeny Trail drainage

The Town of Chester Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Agency voted April 6 to approve Application 26-1, allowing Parks and Recreation to install a footbridge across a drainage watercourse on the Anna Sweeny Trail at NQP. Ben Nash and Gary Nash presented updated plans, which Agency members said incorporated prior feedback and had been reviewed by the Building Official.
Agency members said the revised design reduces potential wetland impacts by using a crushed-stone base/trench to accommodate concrete posts, pressure-treated wood for the ramps, and locally sourced black locust for the railing. Sally Sanders moved to approve the application "as presented"; Michael Bellesiles seconded the motion, which the Agency approved unanimously.
Members thanked Ben and Gary Nash for their voluntary work on the project. The Agency did not record additional conditions beyond the submitted plans; next procedural steps are permitting and construction per the approved plan set and Building Official review.
