Council sets July 31 deadline for communications plan, plans Neighbor-to-Neighbor pilot

At the April 6 meeting, members of the Ad Hoc Citizens Liaison Council reviewed sample communications plans and identified items to include in Chester’s plan: confirm whether the Fire Department uses its Facebook page, consider incorporating the Conservation and Development committee’s annual report, add a list of community stakeholders, and include demographic information discussed in March. The council set a target completion date of July 31 for the communications plan.
Council member Caryl Horner was assigned to draft a mission, vision, goals and a pilot implementation plan for a Neighbor-to-Neighbor program that would use neighborhood "champions" to test parameters and identify needs. Horner left the meeting early before further discussion.
Members agreed to prepare welcome packets for distribution at the next meeting. Adrienne Eckman reserved the community table at the Chester Sunday Market for July 19; she will present materials and handouts at the May meeting for development and seek final approval at the June meeting. Cindy Lignar asked members to review the council’s section of the updated town website and report any errors.
The council did not vote on the communications plan or the Neighbor-to-Neighbor pilot at the April meeting; both were advanced as work assignments with deadlines and follow-up at May and June meetings.
